We all make numerous decisions everyday. The keyword here is Fast-Pace, meaning with the constraint of time. There is not much time to research thoroughly, to think completely, and to come up with the all important choice, let alone the alternatives. So how can we make the best possible decision? In reality, there is probably no such thing as the best decision in our world. This is subjective to the views and needs of different people.Every decision made will lead to something else.Usually, the cries for better decisions, are often due to late recognition of opportunity costs, comparisons on the results of other people's decisions, which we deemed as better as compared to our own, and also a lack of education of the topic. The more educated we are for a certain topic, the lower the risks we will have when making decisions on that topic. The less we know, the riskier our decision becomes.Education builds logic.Boldness with education indicates decisiveness.Boldness without education means impulsiveness and high risk. Here are some pointers I adopted for myself, when I have to make quick decisions within 10 minutes or less.1.If you recall that most of your previous instinct-based decisions were correct, then allow that to become a first approval indicator. If most of the historical instinct-based decisions were not right or regretted, then for any instinct you have in this round, try to think of the opposite and move towards it.For whatever reasons you are not comfortable with letting your instinct to decide, then take it away from the equation.2.Look at the given information from a rational view.Try to assess the given information within 3 to 5 minutes, especially on the price required, or any unclear areas. It is very likely that we will miss some of these out, because they are too vague for interpretation, or they are hidden.Be skeptical to any information you are provided.3.Have a quick summary of what will happen and what will not happen if you make the decision or did not make the decision.Look through all the possibilities. Are there any thing that is highly critical, or indispensable? The idea here is to come up with a basis with priorities and criteria within the shortest timeframe.Remember that when emotions run high, we are letting the surrounding have control on us.When logic runs high, we are grasping some control over the surroundings.
